Here’s the thing: I seriously lack tact in certain areas. Some people call it candor, but it can be just plain rude (although humorous). Fortunately, this is good news for you… whoever “you” may be. Right from the beginning you get to know why I think I have any business adding myself to the world of bloggers and whether or not it will make the slightest bit of difference. There are already so many blogs where people share their opinions whole-heartedly. Some I agree with, and others I despise. But if there’s enough material out there, whether good or bad, why should I add to the confusion?
The answer is not complex, and perhaps it will be unsatisfactory for some. But this is the truth: we don’t need another blog, not even mine. There are enough blogs covering a vast array of topics so that any person can probably find what they’re looking for somewhere that already exists. However, everyone’s blog isn’t going to get read, and every blog doesn’t have to be read. Every blog isn’t meant for every person.I know it states the obvious, but that’s what I do.
Furthermore, I’m no scholar. I’m not witty, dynamic, clever or good-looking… o.k… maybe I’m a little witty. Focusing on these things, however, would miss the point of why I writing this blog. It’s not because I feel equipped to reach the masses with an e-Gospel, a political agenda, or spread the redemption of pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide (perhaps a primary issue for everyone). No. The reason I’m doing this is that perhaps through another blog that has a network of people who are otherwise unconnected to certain “academic circles” knowledge will spread. What I mean is that people who have never heard of “the great bloggers of our time” before might stumble onto them through this. This allows for networks to spread and for discussion to begin.
Besides, who doesn’t love a good reason to write?
Hear, hear.
I certainly have nothing to add to any discussion, but you have hit the nail on the head of why I blog as well.
Oh, and out of the list of adjectives you have, I would have went with good-looking over witty if I were you, though both are true.
Moving speech. Welcome to the real world.
Personally, in my blog, it’s just a good reason to do pointless 80s quizzes and post pictures of Bryan with commentary on why I think he’s hot!
